The Journey Back to My Artistic Roots

Hello and welcome to my art gallery and blog!
As I sit down to write this first post, I am filled with a mixture of excitement and nostalgia. This blog marks the beginning of a new chapter in my artistic journey—a journey that has come full circle, bridging the gap between a childhood passion and the rediscovery of that love years later.
Art has always been a part of my life. As a child, I would lose myself in the world of watercolors, pencil sketches, and wax crayons. Those early experiments ignited a spark that led me to pursue a diploma in fine art and sculpture alongside my first graduation in mathematics. However, life had its own plans, steering me into engineering, an MBA, and eventually into the corporate world of production and planning.
For years, my artistic pursuits took a backseat as I built my career, started my own business, and navigated the many demands of life. It wasn’t until the stillness of the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020 that I found the time and space to pick up a paintbrush again. What started as a small hobby to pass the time quickly rekindled the flame of creativity that had been dormant since 1986.
This blog is my way of sharing not just my artwork, but also the stories, techniques, and inspirations behind them. Whether you’re a fellow artist, an art enthusiast, or simply someone who loves to explore creative worlds, I hope you find something here that resonates with you.
In the coming posts, I’ll take you through my process—how I choose my subjects, my favorite tools and mediums, and the challenges I’ve faced in re-establishing my artistic voice. I’ll also share insights into how my journey in engineering and business has subtly influenced my art, from the precision of geometry to the flow of operations.
Thank you for stopping by, and I hope you’ll join me on this adventure. Let’s celebrate the joy of creation together!
Until next time, Sukkant
